The simplest model of a synchrotrain vehicle is shown in Fig. 6. There the scanning devices 2 and 7 are raised and only the normal system (1) steers the vehicle. As the rear wheels have a smaller radius than the front wheels they have to be wider. The width depends on the vehicle’s length and the smallest curve radius.

If the top edge of the track is as high the street in a curve, the width of the rear wheels can be smaller. The rear wheels then do not roll on the track anymore but on the “street”.
